Regulations on Administration for International Students

Ⅰ.Registration and Admission

1. International students are required to register at Yunnan College of Business and Management in the prescribed time and place with their valid passport. Meanwhile students’ passport should be submitted and kept in International College. International students should ask for permission in advance if they are unable to report on time

2. With any following circumstances, international students will face the consequence of cancellation of admission to school and will be reported to Entry and Exit Administration office of Public Security Bureau, Yunnan Province.

1) Students who delay of registration at school more than three days without permission;

2) Students who do not pay the tuition fees accordingly.

3) Students who fail to pass their medical check. 

International students are required to apply their residential permit at local Entry and Exit Administration office of Public Security Bureau, Yunnan Province within thirty days of their arrival.

 

Ⅱ.  Regulations on Class Affairs

1. According to teaching scheme, students should complete school work of different phases, attend all required teaching and social activities. No one can be absent.

2. Assignmentexams and final marks:

Usual performance will be based on students’ written and oral assignment in-class dictation, quiz, etc.

Final score consists: 25% of attendance +25% of usual performance +50% of final exam. The final score can be transformed to other forms depend on request.

3. International students should abide by all rules and regulations of the school. Students who are absent from class without permission will face punishment from the International College. Warning will be given if students cut classes more than 4 class hours.

4. Students, who apply to leave school or complete a course in advance, must get the permission from the international college and agreement from superior departments or embassy of original country. Then he or she can transact for leaving school and cancel student visa.

5. Teaching language is Chinese, and some Chinese cultural courses will be teaching in English language.

6. Asking for leave

1) During study period, international students are not allowed to leave school without permission from their class supervisor.

2) International students who ask for leave less than one day can directly apply to their class supervisor; those who ask for leave more than three days should provide their medical certificate and fill in the Leave Application Form and hand in to the International College.

3) Total amount of personal leaves of international students should not exceed three days within one month.

4) International students who leave school without permission or fail to return in the prescribed time should be regarded as truancy. Yunnan College of Business and Management and the International College shall deal with those disruptive international students accordingly.

 

Ⅲ.  Medical and Health

1) After foreign students register at school, International College will organize physical examination for the students. Students who fail to pass the physical test are not allowed to proceed. (Note: following physical illness found in student’s physical examination may result in cancellation of student’s visa, and students will be required to return to their country. Those physical illnesses include: mental disorder、AIDS、venereal diseases、contagious tuberculosis or other infectious diseases that may cause serious harm to public health. )

2) School clinic is provided inside campus, international students could receive medical treatment through showing their E-card, and all medical expenses should be paid by students themselves.

 

Ⅳ. Regulations on Accommodation

1. Accommodation regulations

1) Dormitory Management Section will arrange the dormitory for students. No one can exchange dormitories without permission.

2) Dormitory building opens at 6a.m. and closes at 22p.m (weekends close at 23pm). For students who come back late, operator on duty is entitled to inquiry and record. If there is any special instance, students should get permission first from operator on duty and set down reasons.

2. Dormitory Administration

1) Please don't shout loudly in dormitory. If turning on TV and recorder, please do not affect others’ rest and study.

2) Facilities in the dormitory cannot be defiled, removed and lent to others. If found any facility lost or damaged, students living in this dormitory must full compensation for any damage.

3) Do not defile walls, floor, ceiling and other furniture. Do not nail on the wall.

4) Strictly prohibit drinking, gaming and dustup. Once offend, students will be punished. Someone who refuses to mend his or her ways despite of repeated admonition will be expelled from school and the residential permit will be logout.

5) Forbid using utensil with more than 300w power in the dormitory. Students preside over the accidents caused by overloading electricity. Do not cook and smoke in dormitory.

6) Please take care of personal valuables. Do not leave too much cash in the dormitory. Lock the door when staying away. If lost, be fully responsible for any resulting consequences. And do not lend the key to others.

7) Do not breed any animals in dormitory.

8) Make sure the door and window is closed, and lights and taps are turned off when leaving.

9) International College and Students’ Affairs Division will punish students who disobey regulations. According to detailed action, degree of punishment will be different, namely, from fine to expel from the college.

3. Receiving regulations

1) Visitor must show valid certificates and fill in Registration Formfor visitor.

2) Receiving time: 8 a.m.—22 p.m. To make sure the daily life and rest, visitors must leave before 22 p.m. If visitors do not leave before 22 p.m., operator on duty will inform security department and police station. Receiver need to take on the responsibility.

3) Please notify International College if visitor needs to stay over, visitor is recommended to stay at school guesthouse and pay their own expenses.

4.Security and Sanitation

1) Please close all power supplies. Do not use electric cooker, gas cooker, alcohol burner and so on, otherwise the student will be responsible for fire disaster and other accident related.

2) Please close the door and windows when students are in and out the dormitory and take care of personal belongings. If lost, please tell the person on duty in time.

3) Please do not give others room’s keys; otherwise the student will be responsible for the lost and theft personal or public things.

4)The person on duty will accept the student’s application about   water, electricity and daily service affairs and be in charge of dormitory’s security. So the person on duty has responsibility and obligation to check and correct administrative situation. International students need to cooperate with the person on duty.

 

Ⅴ. Others

1. The international student can enjoy Chinese festivals and summer and winter holiday. According to student’s application, the student can be allowed for one or two days’ leave for important traditional festivals of home country. But student can leave twice at most in each term.

2. Foreign affairs office will pick up and send the international students when entering and graduating. Students need to take responsibility for other transportation.

3. Tuition fees and other fees should be paid before registration according to the principle.

4. The college will organize recreational visiting and travelling activities in good time, but the students need to afford all expense.

5. The international students must abide China’s rules and regulations. The students cannot work and do business, and read out, hand out and put up any promotional papers without permission during study time.
